When and where is the Broadcast on?

The VK7 Regional Broadcast can be heard at 0930 (9:30am) Local Tasmanian Time every Sunday (except the Remembrance Day Contest weekend).

It follows the WIA National News Broadcast which starts at 0900 (9am) prior to the Regional News.

To give even greater access to the regional broadcast and amateur news in VK7 by both amateur and non-amateurs we have a VK7 Regional News email list courtesy of Yahoo Groups.

This list allows anyone to register their email address and receive the VK7 Regional news broadcast text, WIA News, relevant ACA media releases and other interesting news delivered free via email.

The emailed version of the Regional news gives you all those internet and email addresses that are not read out when it goes to air. There is also additional material that is not included on the broadcast due to time and space constraints.

The easiest way to subscribe to the mailing list is to send a blank email to: vk7regionalnews-subscribe@yahoogroups.com or use the form below:

News for the VK7 Regional broadcast can be sent to the VK7 Regional News and Broadcast Coordinator, Justin, VK7TW on email or (03) 6223 1351.

The deadline to get items to the Coordinator for the broadcast is 2100 (9pm) on Friday prior to the Sunday of the Broadcast.

Would YOU like to become a VK7 Regional News Newsreader or rebroadcaster?

The following rebroadcaster procedure gives you an indication of what is involved and can help new re-broadcast operators.

You are most welcome to give it a go and see if it's for you.

The News readers and rebroadcasters play an important role each Sunday in bringing you the VK7 Regional News Broadcasts. Please support them by listening and calling back to let them know you have listened.

The 2010 roster contains a list of all news readers and rebroadcast operators and when they are rostered.

If you would like to become a rebroadcaster then please contact the VK7 Regional News and Broadcast Coordinator on email 

We have designs and PCBs made up of patch boxes to enable connecting radios together. If necessary we can even make one up for you for a small cost.
